TL;DR checklist

  • Min 4 photos: front, back, close-ups of wear, accessories/box.

  • Formats: JPG/PNG/HEIC, ≤ 10MB per image.

  • Lighting: bright, diffuse; neutral background; fill the frame; no heavy filters or watermarks.

  • Show truth: every scuff, dent, scratch, haze, fungus, separation, LCD wear, rubber peel, etc.

  • Condition: pick a Condition Type; if Used, also pick a Grade (Mint / Very Good / Good / Well Used).

  • Disclose: defects + what’s included (caps, charger, batteries, straps, box, manuals).

Photo requirements

Minimum set (4+)

  1. Front

  2. Back

  3. Close-ups of condition (corners, mount, LCD, grip, elements)

  4. Accessories and box (if included)

Do

  • Use daylight or soft light; avoid harsh shadows.

  • Shoot on a clean, neutral surface.

  • Fill the frame; keep the item square and in focus.

  • Add extra photos for any flaw you mention.

Don’t

  • No extreme filters, color grading, or blur.

  • No stock photos, logos, phone numbers, or off-platform contact.

  • Don’t hide wear or crop out damage.

File rules: JPG, PNG, or HEIC. Max 10MB per image.

What to photograph (by category)

Digital camera bodies

  • Front, back (screen on if possible), top, bottom plate, ports.

  • Lens mount and sensor area (cap off, no swabs/tools).

  • Shutter count screenshot (if you have one).

  • Battery/charger and any included accessories.

Lenses

  • Front and rear elements (angled light to show cleaning marks).

  • Aperture blades (open and closed), lens mount, barrel wear, filter threads.

  • Any optical issues (haze, fungus, separation, balsam, oil on blades).

Film cameras

  • Front/back, top/bottom, shutter curtains, film chamber, pressure plate, light seals, viewfinder.

Accessories

  • All sides, connectors/threads, model/labels, included cables/caps.

Serials: You may mask the last 2–4 digits if you prefer. Ensure the full model label remains visible.

Choosing Condition Type and Grade

In Photos & Description you’ll see:

  • Condition Type

    • Unused — Sealed

    • Unused — Open Box

    • Used (reveals “Grade”)

    • For Parts / As-Is

If you select Used, choose a Grade:

  • Mint

  • Very Good

  • Good

  • Well Used

Definitions

Unused — Sealed

  • Factory sealed. Never opened, never used. Retail packaging intact.

Unused — Open Box

  • Opened but no signs of use. All accessories present. Functions like new.

Used — Mint

  • Looks like new. Nearly no visible wear. Glass clean (no haze/fungus/separation). 100% functional.

Used — Very Good

  • Light cosmetic wear (tiny scuffs, faint cleaning marks).

  • Glass may have minor cleaning marks/dust that don’t affect images.

  • All functions work as expected.

Used — Good

  • Noticeable cosmetic wear (scuffs, small dings, light brassing, LCD marks).

  • Glass may show visible cleaning marks or light edge haze that doesn’t show in photos.

  • Fully working; some cosmetic aging/handling play acceptable.

Used — Well Used

  • Heavy cosmetic wear or age; may have quirks that don’t prevent normal use (e.g., loose rubber, stiff ring, minor VF dust).

  • Must be operational. Any behavior that could impact results must be disclosed here.

For Parts / As-Is
Choose this if any of the below apply:

  • Doesn’t power on or has intermittent power.

  • Shutter/IBIS/AF/exposure errors; meter inoperative.

  • Lens with fungus, heavy haze, separation, severe decentering, stuck aperture, broken AF.

  • Missing critical parts (battery door, mount screws, rear group, etc.).

  • You’re unable to test core functions.

Defect disclosure checklist (copy into your description as needed)

  • Function: power, shutter, AF, IBIS, aperture, metering, ports, hot shoe, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, firmware.

  • Optics: dust, cleaning marks, coating scratches, haze, fungus, separation, oil on blades, decentering/back-focus.

  • Exterior: dents, dings, chips, paint loss, brassing, grip wear/peel, LCD scratches or lines, rubber stretch.

  • Mechanics: zoom/focus ring smoothness, clicks, play, filter thread damage.

  • What’s included: caps, hood, charger, batteries (health), strap, box, receipts, third-party parts.

  • Shutter count / actuations (if known).

  • Any repair history (who/when/what).

If a flaw affects images or core operation, either grade Well Used with explicit details or select For Parts / As-Is.

Photo examples to aim for

  • Cover photo: front-three-quarter angle, bright/diffuse light, full frame.

  • Detail photos: mount, elements, corners, LCD, and each flaw called out in text.

  • Accessory layout: everything included in one clear overhead shot.

Why this matters

Accurate photos + grading protect you under Seller Protection, reduce “Not as Described” returns, and increase conversion. If you’re unsure between two grades, pick the more conservative one and photograph the reason.
